‘Hear, Feel, See’ (HFS): A Multi-Sensory Music Experience
Using XR Technology Overview
Led by SOMA: Sensory Oriented Media & Arts, in communications with national disability
charity SENSE, Hear, Feel, See (HFS) is a multi-sensory music project that
reimagines how audiences experience live music—by blending hearing, sight, and touch into a
unified and emotionally resonant experience.
What sets us apart is our commitment to creating real-world impact through inclusive art.
We’re not only building immersive performances but also developing therapeutic products that
can be rolled out for wide public use, aiming to support thousands of users with a broad
range of access needs. Our work directly aligns with SENSE’s goal of reaching over 50,000
people by 2026, and this is more than a conceptual partnership: SENSE is sponsoring the
project by providing therapy rooms, access to users, and specialist input, supported by a
formal Letter of Sponsorship.
HFS uses Extended Reality (XR) technologies, vibroacoustic feedback, wearable haptics, and
spatial audio to craft a radically inclusive experience. Designed from the ground up with
accessibility at its core, it is equally meaningful for blind, deaf, neurodivergent, and physically
disabled individuals—while offering a rich, sensory performance for all audiences.
Through tactile vibrations, ambient projections, and spatially responsive sound, HFS creates a
shared sensory language—a universal form of artistic communication that transcends physical
and cognitive barriers. It’s not just an art installation—it’s a platform for change in the way we
understand, create, and experience music.
HFS is designed to scale across formats—from immersive, touring live performances to
adaptable installations in galleries, schools, and therapeutic environments. Whether delivered
through wearable haptics, sensory chairs, mats, or 360° visuals, each experience is built with a
strong emphasis on accessibility, emotional connection, and artistic innovation.
